realization

it was dawn
And if I could recall it was probably around 4 or 5AM
as I was in a place between sleep and awake for you were there sleeping next to me and I could feel the heat of your skin

It woke me up
a sudden thought came across my mind and I opened my eyes

But I knew it wasn’t a dream
that you were brought to life from your sleep and pulled me closer placing my head on your arms because you know the only pillow that could soothe my agony is your body with my face against your chest and I could smell your scent from your neck like it’s a love potion

I got drunk from it.

it was the moment I realize that you’re the one
The one who would give your all to protect me
The one who would shield me with all your body
The one who would guide me with your soul
as I was drifting back to sleep knowing this isn’t the first nor it would be the last

for you to be my lullaby.
